Dragan Tasic Deni – Skopje
I was born in Vranje and until the age of 10 I lived in Kosovo and Metohija. Then from the 4th to the 8th grade I lived in Belgrade, until I enrolled in the gymnasium in Macedonia, and then the law school.
I can commend that I traveled a lot. Especially because I’m a painter, so every city awakens a different inspiration. I was in France for a while; they even gave me the nickname Danny because the name Dragan was difficult to them. I traveled through the Balkans, visited Dubrovnik and Split, where I met one of my great loves. But Zlatibor and Herceg Novi will always be my favorite, especially since I spent half my life in Herceg Novi, and my children also grew up here.
In Macedonia, after studying law, I worked in the court. So I met a Macedonian girl, we have been together for 30 years and with whom I have three beautiful children. It was October, I was leaving the court after a busy day, and it was raining. There was a young lady with umbrella outside and I told her then: The one who has an umbrella is happy. That’s how our story started and is still going on today, although she was 19 years old then, and I was 15 years older than her.
Friends, children and money are never enough! I sort people to good and bad. Our gymnasium was like a mini Yugoslavia. I gained a lot of acquaintances – Serbs, Bosnians, Croats … And today, we meet at the anniversaries and we talk, as if we never separated.
