Idean Lokvancic – Sarajevo
I was born in 1950 in Sarajevo. I live here my whole life, even now with my family. I have even six grandchildren! I’m simply a citizen, now retired.
I was driving a taxi in this city for 35 years. I worked at the airport for the last ten years. So I crossed Bosnia and Herzegovina up and down. So I visited Belgrade, Dubrovnik, Zagreb, Mostar and Tuzla. I even went to Ljubljana once. I personally did not have any problems with anyone, nor did I ever suspect that somebody would ever harm me.
I remember the 70s and the army. Now when I look back, I was young, but I have many pleasant experiences with the Balkans. There are no bad experiences. I was doing trade. Goods came from all parts of ex-Yugoslavia. There was a specific apple from Macedonia, grapes from Kavadarci. I have never again had a chance to go to Skopje, and I would like to go. I have good memories from there!
